Шкільний шлях вашої дитини починається вдома.

Ми розуміємо, що всі діти розвиваються у своєму власному темпі, і що всі ми навчаємося з народження. Коли настає час йти до школи, деяким дітям буде потрібно більше допомоги, ніж іншим.

Школи очікують, що більшість дітей почнуть опановувати певні ключові навички* ще до того, як уперше підуть до школи. Відпрацювання цих навичок допоможе зробити шлях вашої дитини до підготовчого класу максимально позитивним.

Якщо ваша дитина вже відвідує дитячий садок чи дошкільний заклад або за нею доглядає няня, ці фахівці працюватимуть із вами й дитиною, щоб допомогти їй підготуватися до школи.

Ви можете багато чого робити вдома для розвитку впевненості й самостійності вашої дитини, щоб допомогти їй емоційно та практично підготуватися до початку навчання в школі.

Як я можу допомогти своїй дитині підготуватися?

• У вашої дитини буде багато нових занять і рутинних справ, до яких доведеться звикати, коли вона піде до школи. Деякі речі їй буде потрібно робити більш самостійно, ніж раніше.

New skills take time to learn. Practicing at home will help your child move into school more easily and with confidence.

• Одягати/знімати верхній одяг і взуття
• Користуватися туалетом і мити руки
• Одягатися з мінімальною допомогою, наприклад після відвідування туалету або уроків фізкультури
• Using a fork/spoon and drinking from an open cup
• Залишати дитину на деякий час без вас, щоб вона звикала до того, що про неї піклуються інші дорослі

Гра, творчість і допитливість

• Engaging in imaginative play (e.g. role play)

• Продовжувати виконувати завдання, навіть якщо воно складне, і повертатися до справи після невдачі

Фізичний розвиток

Забезпечення принаймні трьох годин фізичної активності щодня

• Підніматися та спускатися сходами (однією ногою за раз, тримаючись за стіну)
• Лазити, бігати, стрибати й гратися
• Ловити великий м’яч (найчастіше)
• Розв’язувати прості головоломки та займатися рукоділлям, тренуючи хватку під час вирізання та приклеювання

Здорові звички

• Лягати спати приблизно в один і той самий час щовечора та прокидатися вчасно, щоб зібратися до школи
• Обмежувати час, проведений перед екраном, до рекомендованої денної норми (див. поради)
• Дотримуватися здорового харчування та куштувати нові продукти
• Чистити зуби зубною пастою з фтором двічі на день (ви маєте контролювати цей процес, доки дитині не виповниться принаймні 7 років)

Що робити, якщо в мене є побоювання щодо розвитку моєї дитини?

• Якщо ви стурбовані успішністю вашої дитини, обговоріть це з нянею, вихователями в дитячому садку або дошкільному закладі, патронажним працівником, працівниками місцевого дитячого центру або центру для родин.

• You can work with your child’s early years setting to help your child with self-care, managing emotions, social skills, and communication in a way that suits their stage of development.
• ​You might want to share details about their development, needs, what motivates them, what might trigger difficulties, how they learn best, and what strategies work well.

<p>We understand that all children develop at their own pace, and that we're all learning from birth. When it's time to start school, some children will need more help than others.</p>
<p>There are key skills that schools expect children to be learning before their first day. Practicing these will make your child's journey to Reception as positive as possible.</p>

<li>Your child will have lots of new activities and routines to get used to when they start school. There are some things they'll need to do more independently than they might have before.</li>
<li>​Research shows that a child's relationship with their parents is the most important factor in their development, and there's a lot you can do at home.</li>
<li>​When your child is at home with you or another caregiver, you can practice as a family with fun activities (we've included links at the end of this resource).</li>
<li>Some of these skills take time to master, so it's good to introduce them gradually as part of your daily routine.</li>

<li>If you're worried about your child's progress, talk to your childminder/nursery/pre-school team, health visitor, local children's centre or Family Hub.</li>
<li>​If your child has developmental delays or SEND (suspected or confirmed), speak to their childminder/nursery/pre-school team well before they start Reception.</li>
<li>You can work with your child's early years setting to help your child with self-care, managing emotions, social skills, and communication in a way that suits their stage of development.</li>
