{"id":2482,"date":"2026-03-31T14:15:10","date_gmt":"2026-03-31T14:15:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/startingreception.co.uk\/?page_id=2482"},"modified":"2026-05-12T19:35:42","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T19:35:42","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/startingreception.co.uk\/ti_er\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>\n\t\t\t\t\tAbout\n\t\t\t\t<\/h1>\n\t<p>Starting Reception is a single, shared definition of the practical skills children need to thrive from their very first day in Reception.<\/p>\n<p>It was created by a coalition of organisations from across the early childhood sector and aims to address confusion about what it really means for a child to be ready for Reception (some people call this school readiness).<\/p>\n<p>It offers expert-led and consistent guidance for everyone supporting young children &#8211; allowing us to set clear expectations for families.<\/p>\n<p>Launched in March 2025, Starting Reception is welcomed by the UK Government and signposted from the <a href=\"https:\/\/beststartinlife.gov.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Best Start in Life website<\/a>.
